IMAGING

It is kind of difficult for me to talk about the things that i like. i am me. so, everything i like comes with my own self entrenched in it. when i love something, it is in my heart. i see it through my eyes, from my memories, and it is woven in my experience of the world. here are some of the things i like (!)

SCHOOL DAYS School days is a shakespearean tragedy bordering on masochistic ordeal. Katsura Kotonoha is a quiet and reserved student preyed upon by her boyfriend Makoto Itou, who then psychologically tortures her until she completely comes apart and is mentally boiled alive. Sekai, who helped Itou get together with Katsura, is impreganted by him, tears him away from Katsura little by little like plucking seems out of a dress. Itou is outed as abandoning Sekai and their future baby, is turned on by the countless women he has fucked with, and finds Katsura whose mind is rotted away by her extreme grief. He then goes out with Katsura while Sekai is at home preparing them dinner. Itou then tortures Sekai by kissing Katsura in front of her, and Sekai then murders Itou, watching as the life finally leaves his body as she stabs him over and over and over and over again. Katsura upon finding his corpse, cuts it up and carries it around with her, believing Itou to still be with her. Katsura and Sekai meet up on the roof of the school where Itou had confessed his love to both of them, and Katsura murders Sekai, and cuts open her uterus, finding there to be no visible baby. Katsura then lays on a bench, caressing and holding Itou's decapitated head as the sun rises. The anime is based on the visual novel, which has multiple endings.

FIGHT CLUB Both the film and novel are masterpieces. the narrator of fight club suffers from such monstrous insomnia he begins to hallucinate an different version, or perhaps completely different person entirely, of Tyler Durden. tyler is confident, able, and actively rejects modernity and conformity of mundaneity and acceptance. he represents how insidious male excellence and toxicity twists your brain into shreds and ruins interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships. the narrator attends support groups for people with terminal diseases, to feel connected, listened to, and supported against the cold tile of the outside world. the narrators world is ruled by morbidity, working himself to death, and the grey fog of cold isolation and insomnia. he meets marla singer in these groups, realizes she is there to experience the same connection, and their relationship grows, as she sleeps with tyler. she represents the anger and self destruction of women, the suicidal ideations that come from mental suffering and rejection from others. tyler's fight club he created with the narrator represents the self destructive, anger, violence, and need to create interpersonal bursts of physical touch and heat between each other. SUCKER PUNCH Babydoll's stepfather sexually abused her, her mother, and her sister, and then murdered them. He takes Babydoll to an insane asylum, where she attempts to cope with this reality by imagining the asylum as a dance coroporation which puts on shows for big spending men. To escape, she teams up with other dancers/patients, Sweet Pea, Rocket, Blondie, and Amber. In order to collect the items she needs to complete her escape, she "dances" to distract whoever guards these key items, which in reality she lets them sexually abuse her. In these sequences she further imagines her and her friends as highly skilled fighters in elaborate battles.
